Anyone. The child themselves, a parent who is struggling, a grandparent, a teacher, a neighbour who has seen something and is not sure what to do with it. You do not need proof to call.
Professional crisis counsellors answer. They talk through what you have seen, help you work out whether it should be reported and to whom, and connect you with services near you. The call is a place to think it through, not a report in itself.
Suspected child abuse or neglect in Michigan is reported to the state's 24-hour Centralized Intake line, 1-855-444-3911. In an emergency, call 911.
The hotline provides crisis support, information and referrals. Calling it is not the same as filing a report with Michigan Centralized Intake.
